Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University welcomes Yoliswa Lumka as our new Director of Madibaz Sport.

Ms Lumka completed her bachelor's degree in Human Movement Sciences at Rhodes University before moving to the University of Pretoria, where she obtained her master’s degree in sports science.

Her previous leadership positions include Assistant Director of Scientific Support Services for the Department of Sport and Recreation, head of Sport Performance at the Stellenbosch University’s Sport Performance Institute, and Director of High Performance for Wheelchair Basketball South Africa.

In partnership with Fifa/CIES sport management graduate David Kappel, the two won the 2014 Fifa/CIES International University Network Prize for their project around soccer development for women.

The former SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) team preparation and academy systems manager says that her goal is for Madibaz Sport to be among the top three sporting institutions in South Africa.
